About Lindsay A. Jenkins (L.J.)
LJ is an Afrocentric dramaturg and expert yoga instructor. Over the years, she has found that yoga, dance, mediation and visualization are critical to Black lives. Not only are we able to tap into our personal and cultural histories through connection to the self, we are also able to visualize and manifest Black futures. L.J.'s influences include African, American and Indian approaches to yoga and meditation. L.J. believes that the Self is greatest source material and is passionate about supporting artists in their creative and embodied practices. She holds both an B.A. and M.A. in Theatre Arts, with emphasis on the history, literature and criticism of performance. Her most recent dramaturgy project is The First Deep Breath by Lee Edward Colston III at Geffen Playhouse. She recieved her first yoga certfication in 2013 and has since trained in Prenatal, Yoga Scupt and Kemetic practices.Â
